There are thousands of books in this small library located on the main road into Akumal, only 100 meters (100 yards) before reaching the site. Hekab Be is a non profit organization founded by people interested in children’s education.

The Hekab Be library at Akumal activities carried on here are a children’s reading program, a summer program, and a cultural exchange.

The library is open from 08:30 to 13:00 hrs. (8:30 AM to 1 PM) and from 14:30 to 18:30 hrs. (2:30 PM to 6:30 PM) Monday through Friday.

Book donations are welcome. Some bilingual dictionaries in Maya, Spanish and English may be found here as well.
