The Akumal Bays are a series of bays, starting at Yal-Ku Lagoon to the north and ending at Aventuras Akumal to the south.

Central Akumal

This is the original part founded by Don Pablo Bush on the original Akumal Bay. Get there by taking the Akumal exit sign on the highway. Here you can find shopping, dive shops, restaurants, a beach bar, places to stay and a great main beach on Akumal Bay.

North Akumal

To get there use the same Akumal exit from the highway but bear left at the arch and follow the winding road toward Yal-ku Lagoon. Most of North Akumal is on Half Moon Bay which has a beach and Yal-Ku Lagoon which is loaded with tropical fish, very popular for snorkeling.

Jade Beach

Also called Jade Bay, is just past the southern point from Akumal Bay to the next bay. To get there take the exit for Las Villas Akumal from the highway. Jade beach is within walking distance to Akumal Bay via the beach.

South Akumal

The next bay south from Jade Beach, South Akumal's entrance from the highway is called South Buceo and is a deluxe gated residential community with beach front villas and a couple of condos on a sandy beach.

Aventuras Akumal

The next bay south from South Akumal, Aventuras is another residential community with with a mix of beach houses and condos, and a wide sandy beach.
