Fishing
Puerto Aventuras is considered one of the top vacation spots among world-class sports fishermen. In its waters are plenty of migratory bill fish, sailfish, white and blue marlin, blackfin, skipjack, yellow tuna, kingsfish, wahoo and barracuda.

You are required to release any bill fish that you catch.

Light tackle, spinning tackle and fly-fishing are also recommended. Sailfish and marlin run from early March through mid-July. Dorado, snipper, kingfish and wahoo are abundant all year long.

Each year, in April or May, the area hosts a fishing tournament.

Among the businesses that offer fishing excursions, the prices per person vary from $2,000 to $3,000 pesos (U.S.$200 to $300) for half a day or $5,000 pesos (U.S.$500) for a full day of fishing.

Some charters like Captain Rick's and Offbeat Angling also offers fishing expeditions.
